Autauga County covers an area of 604 square miles, of which 594 square miles of land and 10 square miles of water. The Alabama River composes the southern border of the county. Autauga County is bounded to the north by Chilton County, east by Elmore County and Montgomery County, south by Lowndes County, and west by Dallas County.
Even though the Census estimates the 2015 population of Autauga County at 55,347, Autauga County is a majority rural county, with 85% of the land used for timber and farming.

Autauga County population is 54,571. Its county seat is Prattville. Daniel Pratt arrived in Autauga County in 1833 and founded the new town of Prattville, north of Atagi on the fall line of Autauga Creek. His cotton gin factory quickly became the largest manufacturer of gins in the world and the first major industry in Alabama. Cities: Millbrook, Prattville

Prattville Alabama
Prattville Alabama is home for The Cross Garden, Destiny Christian Center, Pueblo de Dios Hispanic Baptist Church, Pratt Mill at Autauga Creek and the Autauga County Board of Education School Bell. The “birthplace of industry” in Alabama was founded by Daniel Pratt and his factory supplied in Prattville supplied most of the cotton gins in the country. The city’s Parks & Recreation department publishes a superb brochure for local events. It is available at City of Prattville Parks & Recreation website. Prattville is located in both Autauga County Alabama and Elmore County Alabama.
