History of Alabama in the year 1815

On January 8th of 1815, the War of 1812 was still going on and General Andrew Jackson’s American forces defeated the invading British force in the Battle of New Orleans.

 From February 7 until Februrary 12. Alabama experienced the Second Battle of Fort Bowyer, War of 1812: British forces capture Fort Bowyer near Mobile, Alabama in what will be the last land battle between the Americans and British in the War of 1812. The British halt their advance two days later when informed of the Treaty of Ghent.
