At a height of almost 600 feet, atop Red Mountain, the statue of Vulcan watches over the city of Birmingham in Jefferson County. Vulcan is 56 feet tall and is the largest iron statue in the world and the second tallest statue in the world, number two right behind the Statue of LIberty.
Vulcan Center Museum:
Monday through Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 1- 6 pm.
Vulcan Observation Balcony:
Monday through Saturday 10 am – 10 pm and Sunday 1 pm – 10 pm.
Holiday Hours:
Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Open at 1 pm on Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. Closed at 6 pm on 4th of July.
